Yuma, Arizona - United States Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Station saved a man and his son from their sinking boat in the Colorado River.

 

On May 26, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Station Boat Unit were patrolling the Colorado River, South of the Cocopah Water Tower when they encountered a man and his son in their boat. The agents found that the boat was taking on water and was beginning to sink.

 

The agents towed the subjects’ boat to the shore where the individuals were able to get off safely.

 

During Fiscal Year 2009, the Yuma Sector Border Patrol has rescued a total of 22 people.
