Edinburg, Texas - Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley sector rescued one person from the Rio Grande River. Yesterday, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol Station Boat Patrol who were patrolling the Mission, Texas area received a call to assist an individual that was possibly in distress. The agents swiftly responded and encountered a male subject struggling to remain afloat. Boat Unit personnel immediately pulled the individual safely to shore. The individual was then transported to the Mission Hospital to be treated. The Rio Grande Valley sector of the United States Border Patrol has been involved in the rescue of over 180 people between October 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008. |
